Coolvetica

Coolvetica

Using Hyperakt.com as a starting point for inspiration, our group came across an article called “Your Mind Matters” which inspired our project Coolvetica. Coolvetica brings back our love for analogue, focusing on designers mental health issues, and to take a step back from the computer and recognize where our love for graphic design started.

“ We design with people, for people, to tell stories about injustice, hope, and everything in between.”

— hyperakt.com

Using resources like paper, spray paint, markers, color pencils etc. we created analogue spreads scanned digitally to create our final spreads for this magazine. Given our love for fashion, we had a photoshoot with personally designed pieces of clothing which ultimately influenced our art direction. Our final product was a printed magazine and a pop-up shop which encourage people to bring their own clothes and have fun without a purpose. As designers, we often focus on the outcome without enjoying the process.

Using my love for photography, I was in charge of all creative direction.

This project is all things meaningful in my passion for graphic design and ache for the human connection we’ve all missed. It’s about mental health, our craft, and collaboration. It’s about getting back to our roots and creating for fun, not for an outcome.

To learn that were and our work are all imperfectly perfect. Works in progress.
